Lighting up November with Festival of Light!

Join Black Country Living Museum this November to celebrate a Festival of Light on Sat 6 Nov! This special event brings together a celebration of our historic lighting collection and inspiration from the cultural festival of light, Diwali.

Tickets for Festival of Light are via General Admission – UnChained Passholders can visit for free on this date. To book, head to our tickets page.

Make your own special lantern, try your hand at traditional candle dipping and enjoy a magic lantern show at the Limelight cinema. Plus, meet our specialists who will show you fascinating examples of historic lighting.

We are welcoming visitors to stay into our extended hours, to watch our Lantern procession starting at 5pm, supported by our community partners with spectacular hand-made lanterns inspired by the Museum’s historic lighting. You too can take part, light up your hand made lantern and join the procession, which will be accompanied by South Asian Dohl drummers and musicians.

The Museum will be open until 6:30pm on this date, for you to enjoy the Lantern Parade. Please note that this event is not a bonfire night event and will not feature a bonfire or a fireworks display.
