Celebrate all things that made the Black Country famous from its manufacturing heritage to the stories of iconic people who made their mark in the region.
Meet the Museum characters; Gwen Lally the famous Pageant master, hear from Francis Brett-Young, 1940s sell-out novelist and get ready to strike a classic pose as you swing a tennis racket with Dorothy Round.
Explore the Museum’s 26 acre site full of historic shops and houses, meet brand new characters and discover tales of what gives the Black Country its unique personality.
Not forgetting, you can enjoy all the Museum’s usual favourites! Take part in an Edwardian school lesson or test your skill at the fairground stalls. From rides on our vintage transport to trying your hand at some traditional street games, there’s something for everyone.
Plus, grab a portion of their famous fish and chips to finish off your day out.
Entry during the summer holidays is general admission. UnChained annual passes can be used for entry.
Stay Late For Less
On Fridays throughout the summer, we’re extending our opening hours to 8.00pm to give you more time to explore 300 years of Black Country history, all for just £5 per ticket after 4.00pm!
See history brought to life and discover the story of the Black Country after hours. Meet our historic characters and learn what it was like to live and work in one of Britain’s first industrialised landscapes, as you explore 26acres of historic buildings.
There’s plenty for all the family to see and do here for just £5 per ticket after 4.00pm. Enjoy live chain and nail making demonstrations, take part in old-fashioned street games, visit our vintage cinema and take a look at our incredible transport collection.
Hear live music performances exclusive to our Summer Lates, grab a bite to eat at Hobbs & Sons Fish and Chip Shop and enjoy a refreshing drink from our Bottle & Glass Inn, there’s plenty for all the family to see and do when you spend your evening at Black Country Living Museum on Fridays throughout the summer.
Our Summer Lates events run on 5, 12, 19, 26 August and 2 September from 4.00pm-8.00pm.
Kids Eat for £1* This Summer
This summer, enjoy more Museum treats for less with Black Country Living Museum’s Kids Eat For £1* offer. Fancy a taste of Hobbs & Sons famous fish and chips or a lunch box meal from the Workers’ Institute? Keep the whole family fuelled for a day of exploring 300 years of history when you enjoy BCLM’s famous food outlets for less this summer.

‘Kids Eat for £1’ offer
Black Country Living Museum will be piloting a ‘Kids Eat for £1’ offer this summer, from Sat 23 Jul to Sun 4 Sep.
Visitors (‘kids’) eligible for the ‘Kids Eat for £1’ offer must be aged 15 years or under.
Up to two kids’ meals can be purchased for £1 with every full price qualifying adult meal purchase from selected food and drink outlets.
A kids’ meal is defined as:
- Fish Bites and Chips available from Hobbs/Village Chip Shop
- Any kids’ sandwich meal deal, available from the Workers’ Institute Café
A full price adult meal qualifies as:
- Any food and/or drink spend above £5 within a single transaction at either of the above eateries, not including the cost of the kids £1 meal(s)
Each full paying adult meal (minimum spend £5, as outlined above) entitles that visitor to a maximum of 2 ‘Kids Eat for £1’ redemptions.
The £1 kids’ meal(s) must be claimed within the same transaction as the adult meal.
A maximum of two discounted kids’ meals per full paying adult.
This offer only applies for purchases from Hobbs Fish and Chip Shop, the Village Fish Shop or the Workers’ Institute Café.
