Jump on the Jubilee Steam Gallopers
What could be more iconic than a vintage fairground in the summer? Our Jubilee Steam Gallopers are only here at the Museum during the summer months, so it's a perfect opportunity to enjoy a ride on this unique piece of history. It's a fully immersive experience, complete with authentic organ music!
While you're at the fairground don't forget to enjoy the other exciting rides and sideshows - it's guaranteed to be a proper loff!
Enjoy a taste of the past
Whether it's a hearty bag of delicious beef dripping fish and chips, a crispy cone piled high with mouth-watering ice cream, or a cool glass of local ale - we've got you covered for a delicious treat on a sunny day. Pop in to our historic food and drink outlets to grab a taste of the past.

Brand new for the summer, have a game on our vintage putting green! A whole host of playful challenges await you in this beautifully restored retro crazy golf experience.

Explore Folkes Park
Pull up a deck chair and enjoy your picnic in the historic surroundings of leafy Folkes Park. The kids can enjoy the playground at the top of the park, too.
Stroll along the canal
Who needs the seaside when you've got the cut? Explore our historic boat dock and take a stroll along the canal. Plus, you can meet with our knowledgeable historic characters for a guided walking tour around the boat dock, which is included in your ticket.
