    Get Closer: Hauntings in the Black Country

    Step into the mysterious past of the Black Country as we explore local legends, superstitions, and ghostly folklore. This tour brings to life eerie tales linked to canals, mines and cottages, where stories of hauntings have been passed down through generations. Expect atmospheric storytelling that reveals how fear, belief, and imagination shaped everyday life in the past.

    Tis the season for a jolly good pub quiz at our Elephant & Castle Pub! 

    Firstly, our Researchers will transport you back in time as they share fascinating stories about Black Country Christmas traditions of the past. Then go head-to-head in a pub quiz - our members’ quiz night promises a lively atmosphere perfect for showing off your Black Country knowledge.

    Between the cheerful décor, themed refreshments and Black Country trivia, you’re sure to leave filled with good tidings and cheer!

New Membership

Yes – if you’ve bought your Unchained Pass within the past month. You can do this over the phone by calling call 0121 520 8054 or pop in and visit our Admission desk.

We are sorry for the delay in receiving your pack, please contact the Membership Team at [email protected] or call 0121 557 9643. The good news is you can access most of your membership benefits in the meantime:

To visit, simply give your name and provide photo ID at the Admission Tills and the team will issue you with a temporary membership card for the day to access your onsite discounts.

To book, login online with your registered email address and book an exclusive Get Closer members event or use your members discount on special event tickets.

Full terms and conditions can be found on our website. A copy is also sent with your membership welcome pack.

Unfortunately, we are unable to claim Gift Aid on membership payments as it can only be claimed on donations, not payments for goods or services. In some cases, membership subscriptions can be treated as donations for Gift Aid purposes but the value of the benefits we offer exceeds HMRC’s limit. As an educational charity, we rely on the support of our members and supporters to fund our work. We believe our membership scheme offers great value for money so we are unable to provide any further discounts. We do, however, offer a concessions rate on our UnChained Pass and free entry to all essential carers.

Your membership supports our work as a registered educational charity. Please be advised that your membership is non-refundable.
