Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of wartime Britain as you wander through period-accurate shops, homes, and industrial workplaces, each telling its own story of life during the 1940s.

    The 1940s brought to life

    Discover the sights, sounds and stories of the 1940s as our Museum is transformed into a celebration of one of the most defining eras of the last century.

    Find yourself walking historic streets browsing shops, houses and industrial workplaces of the past as they are brought to life with reenactors representing everything from domestic life to the armed forces.

    It’s the perfect setting for you to get into the blitz spirit.

    Activities

    There’s plenty to do for all the family, with a packed programme of activities to get stuck into – from lively street entertainment and live music to costumed characters bringing the sights and sounds of the era to life.

    Explore the historic streets, admire vintage vehicles and enjoy hands-on fun that captures the spirit of the 1940s, all set within the unique and authentic atmosphere of our recreated period streets.
