Home of Industry Experience Day
Friday 20 March 2026
Age Range: Years 5 to 8
Bring the Industrial Revolution to life for your students with this unique step back in time. Experience life and industry as it was at the height of the Industrial Age. See live demonstrations of metal forming and brick making, and learn how steam powered our local industry and transport. Take part in a hands-on making activity and take a piece of Black Country history back to school with you. Plus, discover the darker side of life as you hear about the lives (and work) of children at this time and how far and wide across the globe things that we made in the Black Country travelled. This is a truly unique experience that brings the saying “Black by Day and Red by Night” to life for your students.

World War Two Experience Day
Friday 10 July 2026
Age Range: Years 5 to 8
Engage your students with a captivating journey back to the 1940s! They’ll dive into the history of the Black Country during World War Two, experiencing firsthand the air raid shelters, rationing and military and civilian uniforms of the time. Our knowledgeable Musuem staff and reenactors bring history to life sparking students’ curiosity and deepening their understanding of what life was like during this turbulent decade. As part of the day, the students will experience an interactive school lesson, learn how to act during an air raid and what it meant to be evacuated.
