Museum joins Bloomberg Philanthropies Digital Accelerator Program

19th Sept 2024

Black Country Living Museum joins a cohort of 200 non-profit cultural organisations from across the United States and the UK to improve essential digital infrastructure.

The initiative helps cultural organisations to strengthen technology and management practices to improve operations, drive revenue, increase fundraising, engage broader audiences, and deliver dynamic programming.

“We’re thrilled to have been selected to participate in what will be a transformative project for us,” said Sam Davies, Systems and Processes Business Partner at the Museum.

“Through the programme we’ll develop a comprehensive ticketing, membership, and customer management system, establishing a digital-first approach and a seamless online experience for our visitors and members.”

Over the past three years, the Digital Accelerator Program has been a catalyst for strengthening nearly 150 cultural organisations across the United States and the UK.

To date, the 40 institutions that were part of the first cohort cumulatively grew an additional $20 million in new revenue including through fundraising, reached over 1 million new audience members, and engaged more than 4,000 new artists and partners.

The Museum is one of 200 non-profit cultural organisations accepted into Bloomberg Philanthropies’ new Digital Accelerator Program cohort, spanning artistic disciplines and organisation size in 52 United States cities and 28 UK cities.
