Community Engagement

Why community engagement matters to us

Community engagement – working in partnership with local residents, groups and organisations – is really important to us.

By involving local communities in our decision-making, from what events we run to how we can make the Museum more accessible, we better represent their interests and heritage, creating a sense of ownership and pride throughout the Black Country.

Community advisory panel

Join one of our panels to help us reach our potential in delivering an enjoyable visitor experience to all.

Community-led events

We host and co-produce many community events throughout the year, including our Festival of Light event.

Memory boxes

Our reminiscence (memory) boxes are a physical collection of items and stories inspired by the Black Country heritage. Hire one for a trip down Memory Lane.

Access Guide

We want all of our visitors to have a bostin’ day out at the Museum. Find out more about accessibility and plan your visit in advance.
