Summer at the Locksmith's House

Step into the story of a Willenhall family and spend a summer’s day at the Locksmith’s House Museum.

The Hodson family are looking forward to welcoming visitors into their home and lock-making business for a special family-friendly event celebrating summer and Willenhall’s rich locksmith heritage.

Explore the house as it appeared in 1905, complete with the Hodson family’s original furniture, belongings, and beautifully preserved Edwardian interiors. Meet costumed characters throughout the house, discover the stories of family life, see the front parlour where the daughters ran their clothing shop and the locksmith at work in their workshop.

They’ll be plenty for younger visitors to enjoy too, including hands-on crafts, traditional yard games, colouring activities, and lock-themed puzzles.

During the visit you can:

  • Watch live locksmith demonstrations in the workshop
  • See the clothing parlour that the Hodson daughters ran
  • Explore the Hodson family’s Edwardian home
  • Meet the characters bringing the house and its stories to life
  • Take part in family crafts and creative activities
  • Enjoy traditional games in the yard
